an average british family used 50kg of packaging in a month. this is totally disgusting. there's nothing that pisses me off more than useless layers of plastic. if packaging is truly necessary there are so many new options for biodegradable packaging, made of corn etc. i flipped out at a company awhile back for shipping me calendars surrounded by a ( Read more... ) -

i am trying to convince my parents to ditch the gift giving this holiday season and instead all of us pitch in for something from Oxfam Unwrapped. You can train a beekeeper, buy someone a goat, or train a midwife, among other fantastic options. TIME magazine's all time 100 novels (since 1923). includes some of my favourites (mrs. dalloway and passage to india) but some serious omissions including 100 years of solitude, a fine balance and the god of small things. duh.
