I forget where I saw it, and I wish I had a copy of it, but my absolute favorite political cartoon of all time consists of three panels:
panel 1: a picture of a condom dispenser; the caption reads "encourages sex".
panel 2: a picture of a fire extinguisher; the caption reads "encourages arson".
panel 3: a picture of a seatbelt; the caption reads "encourages wreckless driving.

While I'm completely opposed to mandatory vaccines, I think that the religious right needs a serious kick to the head to jar their brains into place. You know that if an HIV vaccine came into place there'd also be talk of dem homos and how it would encourage our children to be teh gay.

I am against generalized vaccines too like the Flu because I feel that it best developed on your own (I never had a flu vaccination and I have not had the flu for almost a decade now). But for the big stuff like HIV, Meningitis, etc. I support it since those diseases are particularly nasty.

The gay thing is a point I missed too. But I think what has happened in Africa, where homosexuality is extremely oppressed, would kind of deflate the arguement.

LOL! Almost any argument proposed by the religious right can be easily deflated. That doesn't stop people like Pat Robertson from making them and completely ignoring logic.

True. But public image will trump all when it comes to the politicians.
