I like to aim very high and see how far it goes -- I never have a very specific idea of how it will turn out *winks*

Oh I couldn't possibly write year overviews from memory! I will be looking through my google calendar and my LJ to create them.

You are so much my inspiration with setting and meeting goals. Seriously.

I give myself permission to fail, so it isn't overwhelming for me ;-)

nice to meet you! I added you.

Because you're very specific and you break down the steps you want/need to take to achieve the goal. I've actually started focusing on this approach with patients because so many of them have big goals for the program ("I want my pain to get better" - me: "can you define what 'better' means for you? What steps do you want to take to achieve this goal?") and it's made me change how I approach goals. I'm super goal-oriented: feels like I can't do a thing without having some sort of goal, but I've learned to focus a bit more on the journey of reaching that goal and breaking things down into manageable, bite-sized chunks. I feel like taking very specific approaches ("x number of this") takes out ambiguity of goals and ensures that I can actually look back and say "it's a yes or no question...did I achieve it?"

If that makes sense.

ah! Yes, I have learned that specific is very important for me to understand pretty much anything. :D
