I agree. When I meet a man who calls himself a feminist AND recognizes when he's being sexist, I just want to hug him. Sadly that doesn't happen very often. :(

I totally agree. I still consider myself a feminist, but I have strayed so much from the "fold" because of issues like these, but mostly because of white feminists making it an uncomfortable place for me to battle white supremacy within the movement. I think that feminism is working when it is making people uncomfortable, but most of them just want to post on Facebook and talk about it with other white people...the minute that I show up, they want to ask me stupid questions like "oh, but what about when Mexicans do xyz" .........

It really sucks.

And got me reading some of the blogs at RadFemHub. As near as I can tell, the problem is that these women have defined their version of feminism along a gender binary. There are men, and there are women, full-stop, period ( ... )
