Gatherings like that actually bother me. I couldn't tell you why exactly. Perhaps they remind me of "Faith Chapel" services which, essentially, get under my skin. Then again, I pray to the Goddess alone, on my own terms. I don't have to dress up on a Sunday or sit in a pew with a bunch of strangers. I can be naked if I want to, or sitting up on the rimrocks, staring out at the afternoon sky.

Glad you enjoyed yourself though.

Wow...thanks for sharing that. I have never been to anything like that -- Christian, Pagan or otherwise...I'm not sure how I would feel about it either since I tend to be cynical as well...

you're welcome! I probably would not have reacted so open-heartedly had I not experienced similar things before. It's an unusual experience!

~warm smile~ When they're honest and alive, services like that are *awesome*; I'm glad you wandered into one. Here's hoping they keep the fire and light.

I remain tremendously skeptical gatherings, largely because of my own (highly negative) experiences, but reading this sort of thing makes me believe that in time I'll be able to find a communal worship experience that suits me, also.

That is awesome that you had a good time.
It sounds like you went to an evangelical or pentecostal church. But labeling religions is really not important.

ps: this cracked me up:"so easily do I speak Christian-ese"

yeah, I think they call themselves 'non-denominational' but like you said, it doesn't really matter.

heh, I do. It's really like a dialect of its own, a different way of phrasing things.
