I was about halfway through this before I realized it was a dream. Kudos to me, I read subject lines!

Even after reading about all of the symbols, I really have no idea what to make of your dream. Heh. What's your interpretation?

for one thing, it suggests I'm worried about wasting time/energy/effort on something really important to me (because trees are really important to me) and that I'm going through some kind of cleansing... but I really have no idea what. My dreams seem much more dynamic than my life lately!

the fact that you're in there, well, maybe you're part of the reason I'm going through a cleansing or renewal? (spiritual) and when I told you not to scrub off the lichen, saying that it was beneficial to the tree, that is VERY clear, due to the symbolism of fungi -- negative emotions in your unconscious -- I was telling you that the negative emotions are beneficial if you treat them right (wash them, but not scrub them off -- or, express them rather than trying to eliminate them). I thought that was very cool. ;-D

You were in my dream last night. I have a somewhat sketchy memory of what happened, but I thought i'd share it with you ( ... )

You know, I've spent all sorts of time thinking about this dream and I have a hard time understanding what it's trying to say. And for the most part, I believe that dreams don't really mean anything--it's just our unconscious mind running around while it gets the chance. But I do believe that from time to time, our dreams have a deeper meaning and that we can really get something out of them. The fact that I remember this dream so vividly really make me think there's something more to it.

Now that I've thought about it for a couple days, I think there are some themes or ideas but I'm not fully comfortable talking about them here. I will most likely make a post in my own journal (with my own filter) about the dream and what I think of it. I'll make sure that you see/read it when I post :)

I always find it fascinating to see what others dream. the thing that I have found over the years is that, while some traditional symbolism seems to creep into my dreams, i have my own personal symbolisms and definitions for everything (like where a pig traditionally symbolizes luck and wealth, I am allergic to pork and very frightened of pigs, so they mean something different to me). I think that the lush imagery in this dream is excellent! Vivid dreaming is a fabulous thing! :)
