I wish that I felt I could... but then, I feel I should respect people's privacy, so I don't use names in my journal. (and no, I don't know any other LJers in real life, so I couldn't use that in order to refer to them)

oh, yeah, I see what you mean. I don't use last names for that very reason. I figure first names are common enough that they don't really give anything away.
