wow, lj has made a useful improvement which didn't break other useful things

I might as well call this a permanent semi-hiatus. At least that way when I appear every month or so and spam my flist with comments, it will look less like I am a month late for the party and more like a tactical deployment of resources ( Read more... )

I was a huge fan of Sapphire and Steel when it was originally aired. I was, I don't know, 15? My mum watched it too, and loved it which was beyond rare for her in those days - I think it may have been the only TV show she watched back then. As far as i can remember, Lead only showed up for the episode where Steel had "taken himself down" i.e. got cold. The ones in the house with the painting? I think that was the opening episode? Silver was in a later episode, towards the end of the series possibly. I can't remember any other 'elements' showing up, but I may be wrong. The episode on the train station with ghosts from WW2 was my favourite.

Ohhh, really? How excellent. If you ever have time you should check out lost_spook's bounty of fic, icons & miscellany - I've enjoyed much of it despite having little clue of what's going on.

Yes, the one with the painting, and all the clocks. Apparently Silver turns up in Assignments 3 and 6 (of 6), and I'm glad to know I don't get lots of Lead in the meantime! (He wasn't that bad really, I just didn't know what to make of him - I suspect he was meant to be jolly and not creepy at all, but failed badly.)

 I would not count on it at all. In S&S everything is out to get you, and definitely potentially other Elements. Anyway, as tigertrapped says, he doesn't appear again. So you needn't worry, apart from all the other creepy things, like flowers and railway stations and Sapphire and photographs and pillows and service stations and swans and Silver and strange people and little wooden boxes ( ... )

Even if you don't like Silver.

What what, it's possible I may not like Silver? After he's been so unrelentingly awesome in your icons and fic and with the hair? FEAR NOT. I think I have more faith than you do in your skills at knowing what I like. :)

I'm not enjoying this series of Being Human, I must admit. They seem to be scrabbling after the teenage demographic too obviously. That said, the Kirby episode stood out as far and away the worst one so far. The following episode I found dull but not offensive in the way Kirby was. The latest was a bit better, and lots of Tom in in, which was nice.

As long as it picks up after Kirby and has more Tom, I'll keep watching. With series 1 close at hand so I can go back to the good old days should I get too disappointed! Kirby was doubly disappointing because he could've been so good, had he been more subtle and played on Nina more, and had everyone's reactions to him been in character.

YOUR TAG. Also, you have used it quite a bit... and I don't think I actually noticed.

I'm sorry?

That would be because it's new, and I went back and added it to the bunch of other very very important things to which you introduced me!

So sad to know that this is a semi-permanent hiatus, but chuffed to hear that life is being so aggreable. Hope lack of sleep is down to a ravishing man or a slew of very good books keeping you up to all hours. Xo

Aw thanks. And, syntax is important - "semi-permanent hiatus" would mean I was disappearing for an unspecified period of time, and then I would be very sad, and miss you all lots. Happily that is not what I am doing!

D'oh! Just re-read it. A semi-hiatus is def better than a semi-permanent hiatus.

Thanks for the shout-out. Hope being busy is fun!

I'm working my way through Being Human series 2 quite slowly though did finally manage to finish the first half. It's a little different than series 1, to say the least.

Wow, sorry for the very very late reply! I'd love to hear what you thought about series 2, will stroll over to your journal to check it out soon. I just finished series 4 and it's pretty different again but it still kept me on board to the end. :)
