10.01: in which that looks like a typo for the pilot because surely not series ten

Oh Spooks. I bet none of you believed my year of apathy, because surprise, apparently I still Give A Fuck. I guess it's hard not to when there're only five episodes left ever.

Re #5 it was more his manner than his physical appearance but I was definitely getting Adam from Callum. And not liking it, one bit. I have a horrible feeling 10x2 is Tariq's last.

Yes, me too. Especially with how hard the final-series articles have been pushing the Surprise Deaths angle. The only surprise would be if there wasn't one this series.

Re #4: Yes, obviously, this is now the only ending that shall satisfy me.

Re: #2: Er, or just let him run things? Why they gotta bring in a white man to be Tariq's new IT boss?

Re #7: I was quite pleased that she has a wain.

Re #6: Yeah, the Sasha thing was visible from a mile away. Daddy issues! That old chestnut...

The only ending to satisfy me, too! PLEASE HAPPEN.

Re Tariq, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, but after ten years it's hard not to recognise the warning signs...

I wonder if Sasha will get to meet Harry's actual son, who as I remember was a druggie of some sort. But I suppose that was long enough ago to be a parallel universe now.

Re #6 - *puts hand firmly down*

I'd not read any of the spoilers, but the second they said he was Elena's son I was thinking he was Harry's. Still a bit shell-shocked by the revelation though.

And I agree with #1. I absolutely loved Dimitri's line about missing the killing in the SBS =D

I didn't even think that for once a character might have a life outside of MI-5 - just goes to show much the 'It's MI-5, not 9 to 5' mantra has sunk in over the years. It was a nice touch to have Dimitri make those assumptions though, and then for us to see Erin's daughter. Then I was thinking how obvious it was - not that there were any clues, mind, just that she seems (to me at least) to be the kind of person likely to have a family. It's be interesting to know what her back-story is - from the fact that her mother looks after her daughter I'd guess she's a single mum? - but it being Spooks, I guess there'll be no time for personal stories.... Except Harry's. And hopefully Harry/Ruth's.

Haha, oh, with the number of people who saw it coming I do sincerely hope that wasn't meant to be a ~surprise reveal~.

Yeah, I really hope Erin gets some backstory now, even if it's at the expense of a little Harry/Ruth. Though it'd be nice if Dimitri and Tariq got some backstory first, being that they've been around for much longer!

1 IT WAS REALLY GOOD. Somehow. I don't even know. Maybe they actually looked at what worked and what didn't last series?

2 I can barely wait for next week, mostly because I just want Tariq to make it through ok. I would pay to watch the episode early, I'm that worried about it.

3/4 RUTH. I'm glad that she's finally getting recognition!

5 I did! Really weird. But a useful warning signal, perhaps.

6 From the moment he turned up. Mostly because I thought it would be funny. *checks* yep, still hilarious.

7 I did find that bit with Dimitri a bit odd, but yes, A LIFE. SHE HAS A LIFE. Woo.

Maybe they actually looked at what worked and what didn't last series? - Too soon to suspect that, I think! I hope that it's because they got some better writers on board with the knowledge that it's the final series... and maybe having less episodes helped too?

It was so weird seeing glimpses of S3/4 Adam! Such a long time ago, and he was never really replaced I guess. (Cocky Adam I mean, not angsty Adam.) I hope Callum turns out to be a total dick, but not evil.

1) I went in with rock bottom expectations and it helped exponentially.

Other than that my thoughts went along the trajectory of;

a) there are people smiling on The Grid???
b) LARA EFFING PULVER NEVER LEAVE
c) Ruth and Harry IN EVENING ATTIRE (so the writers read the fic after all)

The end.

I am so superficial.

Haha, it does help, doesn't it! Mind you I think my expectations for series 9 were pretty low... Maybe I have it to thank for my even lower ones this time.

Yes, smiles! And lols I just wrote a whole fic with New Girl's name as Lara, luckily had enough brain to change it to Erin at the last minute. Why so many, New People?

It is hard to go wrong with Ruth and Harry in evening dress.
