Yeah, I was rereading my s7 recaps and Lucas seems like someone who's maybe been away for 8 months, not 8 years - I don't think there should have been as much of a disconnect as there was with Charlie, but i know the phone I had in 2000 was some clunky thing with a tiny screen that could store 10 texts, and now I have a phone that stores photos, music, video, 500 texts etc. Camera phones. Phones with colour screens. POLYPHONIC RINGTONES, for goodness' sake.
And that's just one aspect of life. And obviously the show's set up slightly differently, so I'm not expecting them to spend as much time on it, but couldn't they have done something about it?
...that was probably more of a reaction than you were expecting ;) I'm off to work on my Life-themed fic.

Which is where your Life-themed fic comes in, I suppose. Yay!
Bizarrely, it's the everyday things I want to see more of, even though it's the massive fundamental changes to the intelligence system which are the major plot flaw. I presume there eventually was a debriefing, but it didn't take the months it would have to for Lucas to be up-to-speed.
