The 40-clove was in the Rival's booklet that came with the crockpot - not that I needed a book to tell me : Chicken + sage + rosemary + thyme + 40 cloves of garlic; cook until meat falls off the bones.

I use different herbs now. Or rather, I've added some. Plus a couple of other things. Neither of you have complained, so I figured it must be okay.
