This is my obligatory "I still think you're very cute" response. Maybe I'm weird, I dunno, but I find that most of the things you dislike about yourself physically are things I actually find attractive in a woman. I like women who have some weight to them - not rail thin, but not really obese either - and you fall exactly within that range. I like women who have faces that show character - not with perfect skin, but with freckles, and wrinkles, and uniquely defining features. Simply put, I like imperfections, and find them much more beautiful than perfections. And I think all together, those things can really enhance a person's beauty. The usual "super-hot" girls you see don't typically appeal to me, and I know I'm not alone in that. A lot of guys I've talked to - and girls too, for that matter - have completely agreed with me. And I'm pretty sure they weren't just saying it to be polite or anything

Although PAX is not a professional jobs fair, many companies do recruit during the event. I believe the PAX web site has a list of companies that will be at the showroom floor. Take initiative and do a little research on ones that interest you. I recommend looking up ArenaNet, the company in Bellevue that made GuildWars. They take good care of their employees and actually listen to their fans, and they're super friendly and approachable.
Just have your resume and portfolio ready and just go talk to company reps. Show your passion but be professional (i.e. not a fan-girl). It may seem daunting and scary at first but you'll find it's super easy once you've done it.
You are indeed a cutie. You are not a cookie-cutter cutie, though, which unfortunately is the usual beauty ideal and a standard we ladies ending up holding ourselves up against and failing to match. Besides which, being cute/hot/whatever only gets you so far anyway, and even if you've got the looks to net alot of guys, it doesn't mean that those guys will have what you want. No matter who you are or how you look, finding someone who can give you just the right chemistry can be a real challenge.
I hope PAX proves to be a good networking opportunity for you - I'm no networking expert by any stretch, and usually I HATE the idea, but oddly enough just chatting and collecting business cards and getting out there can be a little helpful. At the very least it bones you up on professional interaction, and if you're lucky you find network-friendly people who become new useful connections. So best of luck to you!!!
I want so badly to lose weight, but I've been trying for a long time - eating better, lots of small meals, getting some exercise, etc. I can never seem to do well enough to make a difference, and I hate being hungry all the time.Try weight-lifting, maybe. I gained 28 lbs toward the end of grad school, and since coming home, I've lost 6 of it, and I think it's mostly due to getting back to the weights. Additionally, there was a summer a few years back where I wasn't running at all and was lifting full-time instead, and I was in the best shape I've ever been in... 9 lbs lighter than my running-weight, and a zillion times hotter
