It’s Official

I have concluded that the SCA is no longer fun. When given the choice between pitching a tent in the middle of a dry, weedy field bereft of any shade during nearly one hundred degree weather for an entire weekend versus hanging out on the family houseboat during the same weekend, I’ll take the water option anytime. There’s also way less to pack and ( Read more... )

If you need to go away, go, and most people will say "go with my blessings" once they understand why. (I'll miss you, though.)

I kinda hate to say "If you ever change your mind..." because of course you are leaving with the belief that you will NOT change your mind. But I'll say it anyway, the SCA will still be around, and you'd be welcome.

It's not that I won't change my mind, it's more if I stop playing altogether, I will not come back only because the impetus will have gone like the impetus to finish that sewing project lurking in the back of my closet. The intent would be there just not the follow through. So, I should have been more clear: I am willing to reduce drastically my participation but not stop playing completely. The risk of never playing again is greater if there is a complete break and that's what I do not want to happen.

I would miss you but I understand. I haven't seen you much lately but work and school ate up the last year.

Maybe come to ducal to the casbah at least. It should be fun and I might even get on the carpet for a little bit depending if caoilinn can get me there.

Hugs

Yes, I know Faelen has been working on putting together something fabu at whatever Kingdom events will allow it and I'm sure Twelfth Night will be one of those events. I do plan on going to that event provided I have made some new garb, even if it's a basic caftan with no embellishments!

As far as the needlework project goes, it's just appliqueing some herald's tabards I started last year (or mebbe the year before? I don't remember ... ) and just need to finish. Nuthin to see really.
