I've been admiring your Kakuzu and Hidan fic from afar for several weeks, and it was you that kind of got me thinking of... maybe a more relate-able side to Kakuzu? so. Gah. YAY! I'm so glad you like my fic too :) This was amazing, seriously...I got chills :D I love writing Kakuzu with a more human side, and I love your interpretation...the backstory you've created for him is now, for me at least, canon.

Never be scared to write for Naruto again...this is about a million times better than most of the fic out there! Alright, I will recc this, because I know a lot of hardcore Kakuzu fans on my flist would completely adore this fic <3

That was AMAZING!!! *___* Your characterization of Kakuzu was just... PERFECT! And the background you created - o___O - the whole idea of born in the sea, and by the sea... *shudders* (it instantly brought to my mind that Hokusai's print with a naked woman embraced by an octopus o_o)
But although you gave him him a nonhuman nature, you still managed to make him so human (Kakuzu liking citrus fruits? <333).

And what's incredible, despite such a daring interpretation (I think I wouldn't be able to accept the idea of "sea origins" if it wasn't so brilliantly written) you really did nail Kakuzu's character down. And not only his, the portrait of Hidan we get through Kakuzu's eyes is equally convincing. I think I've never read a fic that would show their partnership in a way that feels so... canon. I would LOVE to see more glimpses of their interactions *__*.

And I'm glad his characterization works because a huge part of this thing was... a-hah... trying to work out how to characterize him. XD So whenever someone says it works I roll around squealing with glee.

Kakuzu just seems like a sea creature to me! Like that's where he'd fit in, and I think he'd be a horrifically awesome ocean predator don't you? He could just blast around... engulfing things.

I'll try to write more, hee hee! I have some Kakuzu crackfic that I want to write too :0 but I'm really trying to break the ice in this fandom, and get myself to work more on these under appreciated characters.

I don't know if you've ever read any HP Lovecraft, but in my head Kakuzu totally fits in as the offspring of a Cthuloid monster from the realms beyond space and a human. XD It just makes SO MUCH SENSE

Doesn't it seem like he'd do really well in the water? I think so, at least. I think his mask babies would be really fricken' scary in water and out, those suckers could smother things, or grab and hold victims until Kakuzu could come along and take care of things. He'd do well.
