Incendiary Food Log, Day Five

Yesterday I ate:

Breakfast, 8:00 am
1 cup coffee with splash skim milk, no sugar

Snack, 9:30 am
1 large skim milk latte, no sugar
1 cranberry-pecan scone

Lunch, Noon
1 barbecue sandwich (pulled pork in sauce on a kaiser roll)
1 dill pickle spear
1 cup roasted vegetables (mostly zucchini)
20-oz bottle of water

I am participating in incendiaryfood -- my previous posts had links back to the post that inspired the community/performance art.

It's an exploration of the way people react to food intake, their own and others, and how women in particular are socialized to feel the need to justify what they eat.

That's why I found it both ironic and annoying that your daughter felt it necessary to comment critically about specific items you listed.

From my point of view, though, it was great -- my grown daughter, married and living in another city, reads my blog! She comments on it! She's concerned about my health! Awwwww, she loves me.

I actually didn't think about the other connotations until you mentioned them. Heh.

I LOVE this. I want you to talk about this particular dialog on the incendiaryfood community becuase it's so damn interesting. I don't think I actually know many people out there in LJ land with grown kids who also read and comment on the LJ. I hope I have this open of a relationship with my kids when they are grown.

I like your clarity and straightforwardness and humor quite much.
