Now that I'm getting into the groove of writing, I'm sure y'all have questions.

Or maybe not, but I'm pretending you do anyway.

So.

Pick an OC of mine, and ask me anything you'd like about their "canon" backstory.

Why specify "canon"? Because I like AUs. A lot. So it's easier to specify.

Hmm... well, we really only see him when he's very young and when he's a bit older... what happens in between? How does he grow into his princely duties? Why did Zuko allow Ozai to meet his grandson in the first place, let alone allow them to spar together? Also, any little tidbits about him that you'd like to share. :)

Zuko didn't really have a choice in allowing Ozai to meet Hitozi.

Torao is seven when Li Xia is hired as his firebending tutor. His mother hopes the Li can coax more power from him, his father hopes she can teach him the skill necessary to learn how to use white fire.

His parents have taught him to firebend ever since he was born, and he refuses to learn from a stranger.

Li Xia takes one look at the stubborn mouth on the daimyo's second son, and the next day she brings back a younger cousin.

"Li Zhao hasn't any firebending talent worth mentioning," she announces loudly, "so a daimyo's son had better be able to keep up with him."

Hakoda has a new wife who he dotes on. He doesn't notice the way Kya's eyes go hard and cold when Bato is around, but Bato certainly does. The marriage is still young, and he knows Hakoda loves her, so he collects his things and makes preparations to visit one of the other villages.

"I want to hunt something you can't find around here," he says when Hakoda asks. "Walruscuda or ice-bison, maybe."

"I'll come with you," Hakoda says immediately, eyes alight at the prospect of such a hunt.

Bato chuckles softly and pushes his friend in the direction of the house he shares with his mother and wife. "Get Kya someone to remember you by first."

"I need a guide," he says the second night he is in the men's lodge of the village. He doesn't know these people well. Bato's father and Sangilak had not liked Tukkar, and while the pirate was hung long ago, his second still lived and his boy was...

Kuma is dangerous. "To where?"

"Where the bison are."

Kuma grins, and the finger-bones in his hair click together as he grabs his gear.

I enjoy that Bato's aware of other's feelings, unfounded or not. I like how he steps down and doesn't seem to be crushed, unlike so many fics that involve Hakoda, Bato, and Kya. His best friend's wife is jealous, he'll go off and do stuff.

Hitozi is sixteen and laughing with his friends over what holidays they were conceived around. His sisters don't seem to be tied to any particular holiday. In fact, Ursa-

Father wasn't even home when Ursa had to have been conceived. He hadn't been home for months.

His friends wonder why he's fallen quiet, and he lets them talk him into something stupid before he slides deeper into brooding.
