AtLA: Fire, I am really not up to this kind of shit anymore. beckyh2112 May 2 2010, 04:20:25 UTC
Daimyo Akio sighed and closed his eyes. The burn scars across his face throbbed. His bad knee felt like it was a mile short of giving out on him entirely for the day.

"Jeong Jeong's going to be there," he said flatly.

"Yes, sir," said the unassuming man who served as his spymaster. "Firelord Zuko pardoned him of his crimes."

"Of course he did. Dismissed."

The man bowed and left, no doubt going straight to the kitchens and then the baths.

Akio glanced at Fire Sage Zuren. His long-time advisor was frowning, bits of flame dancing in his hands. The sage snapped his hands closed, extinguishing the flames, as soon as he felt his daimyo's eyes on him.

"You're honor-bound to challenge him to an Agni Kai," Zuren said. "Desertion on top of your past history with him? Someone needs to bring justice to him."

The burn scars throbbed even more fiercely. "I can't win against him."

"Honor demands-"

"Honor is for children," Akio said harshly. "I have never given a roach-rat's hind leg about honor, and I'll be damned if I start now."
