I loved the 'knock four times'. I loved how perfect a character Lady Christina was.
So far everyone seems positive - except for the miserable bastards which hate everything, so they don't count anyways.
Creepy water put me in mind of Fury from the Deep for some reason. I'm not expecting Ice Warriors, despite the Mars bit - I'd have expected them to appear in the trailer as a hook. Reveals like that and saving them for the episode doesn't seem RTD's modus operandi.
This gave me feelings of a crossover between 'Midnight' and Pitch Black on sedatives. I liked it. Other than the bus driver and the two aliens, there wasn't a body count! Interesting, given the name was Planet of the Dead.
Christina was a good character but I'm on the Doctor's side for not wanting her to tag along any further. She's trouble.
Malcolm absolute *must* come back. He was brilliant.
The bus flying off at the end gave me a slight feeling of Jenny flying off. But I wonder how far she can really get in a flying bus?
The prophecy at the end was well-said. It felt tied into what happened last season as well as what is known to be happening at the end here.
The Waters of Mars looks pretty creepy. I'm already surmising it will equate to The Library.
A little heavy on Tomb Raider ripoffs and Harry Potter homages, but not bad. The flying bus didn't bug me until the end, because honestly, they've got UNIT there, they could track her or simply shoot her ass out of the sky if they wanted, if only to keep her from taking off with alien tech.
I think I had a better first impression of The Next Doctor though, but I liked the new characters other than Lara Croft Christina. Was kind of bummed The Fly Guys didn't survive, because I wanted to see a WTF? reaction from the rest of the bus passengers
