So I got to the venue late (my definition of "late" here being 8:30 when the show was set to start at 9. It didn't actually start until 9:30 but still). The line went about halfway around the block, and since the doors opened late I had to brave the cold for about 20 minutes or so. Without a jacket. Fun times. XD

Ahh, I was there, too! Where I was, the crowd was fucking horrible though. Stupid drunken guys saying disgusting shit. I honestly don't want to go to another show if those fuckers are going to be in attendance, and that makes me really sad, because EA and the Crumpets were SO GOOD.

jsyk, EA's probably never going to play Gothic Lolita alive since it's basically a song that's exactly what happened to her when she was raped/molested, and... well, you know. It's hard to sing stuff like that.

I thought you would be. =) Too bad I didn't see you. D= I'm guessing you were closer to the front, right? And yeah, there were a few points where people were being loud, but I guess I was able to tune most of it out somehow, most likely since I wasn't in the pit. Also I still don't really get people who go to concerts to get drunk. =\

I was reading more about Emilie after the show, and was kind of surprised that most of her songs were drawn from personal experience, since not every musician does that with their lyrics, and also given the subject matter. Kind of puts the songs in a whole new context. But it makes me respect her more, knowing that she's able to come from such a dark place and channel that experience into her art.

Same here :( I really wish I was where you were!! The people all around me were horrible or didn't get into the show at all. It made me pine for a Deg show XD

I'm glad you had so much fun though~

And yeah... knowing EA's story just... honestly it guts me, how people can treat her lightly by heckling her or not understanding just HOW MUCH of herself is in each goddamn song.
