I haven't seen either of these episodes yet (and am wary of watching he latter one) but I dunno...Glee is kind of my trash of the week nowadays. It kind of irritates me to an intelligible rage, especially because as a nerdy writer myself I find it annoying to watch the storyline and characters going haywire. But w/e. I love Darren Criss.

SPN, on the other hand...I don't even know! I used to love it, and now I'm kind of :/ about it. It's lost that magi for me. (but I'll still watch episodes that sound okay, so mebbe I'm a hypocrite.) I'm looking forward to the upcoming anime, just so I can kind of relive the old days. And if it sucks I'll have something to make fun of and an excuse to rewatch the old eps! Whoo!

I was almost there with Glee, too--just being able to not give a shit about it, to just watch for the hell of it and the trashy fun! And then they went and had a storyline that got me and suddenly it's bringing all these ~*feelings*~ back, even though I know it's going to crush me eventually. It's so frustrating because it could be a really decent show! Just... not without a lot of work. That I'm not sure the show really even wants to do. orz

This season of Supernatural is such a rollercoaster, I swear. There's something missing from the show, even when you have a hard time putting your finger on it--I really think it's consistency with the five seasons that came before it, it feels like... fanfic, I guess? and only decent fanfic with only occasional moments of awesomeness--but I still watch every week and always look forward to more. Though, I figure I'll probably taper off once the hiatus kicks in and just not quite pick it back up for a few months. And I am totally eager about the anime! It's going to be so hilarious,

This might be controversial, but I don't really like all the focus on Kurt. I just dislike him as a character (thought, admittedly, this is msotly about his behavior in last season which he did get called out on) but I am very invested in Karofky's development. I think it's the kind of situation America needs to understand. Also, very glad that Quinn while being Christian is obviously not homophobic and I know this is not actually a Glee issue but I have to bring it up because of idiotic RL people. *kicks them*

I still feel like Supernatural has become the Dean show, which bugs the hell out of me because it was always the Winchesters show. Personally, I think it would have been best to end it with five seasons (and let fanfic take over from there).
I haven't been into any anime in so long, so I'm really excited!

Last season, I think I would have agreed with you, that so much focus on Kurt would have turned me off. But I sort of feel like he's the only character that's gotten a major storyline that hasn't made me dislike him (well, the writers, really) all the more after it was done, but instead liked him more. So I'm okay with Kurt getting the focus because a) I'm glad the gay kid is getting focus in canon (instead of just in fandom) and b) it's better than other storylines that'll make me hate other characters more

As for Glee... I THOUGHT YOU GAVE IT UP? XD In any case, I've liked the direction it's going in this season? I feel like it's matured a little bit... I mean granted, it's Glee, but even so. I've liked what they're doing with Kurt, and it feels just.. I DON'T KNOW, BETTER. I hope it keeps going up, but I never get my hopes too high.

I half kind of wonder if they didn't choose different names on purpose just to look like they weren't copying fandom, which I can sort of understand, you need to look like you're being creative on your own, not just copying others, but. They're SUCH LAME NAMES. D:

I had given Glee up! I was totally ready to just let it go! I only read the occasional spoilers and then... well, there was a storyline that sounded too interesting to pass up... and then I caught up... and now I'm kind of hooked again. orz

I think, in some ways, Glee is better than it was last year, but I think it's also missing that same sense of spark it had previously. Kurt is pretty much the only character I feel has gotten BETTER, the rest of them... not so much. Well, except for Brittany. She's become pretty amazing.

i agree with you re Glee and Karofsky. I might not ship Kurtofsky on the show, because omg Karofsky was TERRIFYING and menacing in the scene where he takes the cake topper, and i don't want Kurt to feel scared AT ALL. but i like to explore the whole idea in fic (my current thought is that his dad KNOWS, and actually sent Dave away to one of those "scared straight" camps for gay kids when Dave was younger and initially questioning, which i would LOVE to see explored in fic) because the whole idea of Karofsky is so interesting and gives the watcher so much to think about.

also, the clip from next week left me grinning like an idiot. Rachel and Finn! Beaming! at Kurt! and Rachel encouraging him to smile! SO CUTE.

I can't say I would mind if they went there in the show, after taking Karofsky down a redemptive road, but it couldn't happen for at least a year, otherwise you're just getting into weird "falling in love with your abuser" territory and DO NOT WANT. Because, even if Kurt does come to understand where Karofsky was coming from, even if he forgives Karofsky, even if Karofsky is genuinely sorry about it someday, for a long time you're still going to remember that terror they made you feel
