GIP Post & Slight Supernatural Ramble

Went on something of an icon binge just now. The one above is not actually new, but it's new-ish and I kind of forgot I had it, which is sad. It should be used more.

I honestly wasn't sure about watching this year of Supernatural; my interest had been slowly waning over the last year or so. However, I've really enjoyed the last couple of episodes ( Read more... )

Most people seem to like two out of the three but not all three, although I have seen a few exceptions.

Hmm, I haven't seen that at all. But it's a matter of perception, of course; I have had to filter some folks off my list for variations of this. Pairing-wise, I think there is a definite divide between the Sam/Dean and Dean/Castiel camps, which can lead to that impression. Along with the immense Castiel-hate from some quarters. But most of the Dean/Castiel people also love Sam. I think it's just a matter of reading the journals of people who aren't sidetracked by character hate. *g*

Honestly, most of the people on my own personal flist don't seem to dislike Sam; it's only when I make the mistake of wandering off-flist that I run into that. (I did run into some serious Sam dislike in the comments of a major Dean/Castiel shipper haven, but I backed out quick.)

I do run into some Castiel dislike, though, both on-flist and off. *shrug* I actually do understand the reasons why people don't like Castiel, I just don't care about those reasons too much. :-)

It is a matter of perception. I've seen Sam-hate in the Dean/Castiel fandom, but a minor percentage (and not nearly as much as the people who dislike the Dean/Castiel ship think there is). There are plenty of stories where Sam is absent, but not hated upon (and Dean is always angsting about his absence or worried about him), and plenty of stories where Sam is an important element even if it's mostly about the Dean/Castiel.

And there are those of us who are feeling extremely flaily these days because Sam&Dean is our gen OTP but Dean/Castiel is our...not-so-gen OTP and those two states co-existing apparently cause some kind of collapse of the space-time continuum in SPN fandom. *G*

(Oh, and btw, I need to know where I can snag that usericon. [never mind--found it, yay!] There have been exactly two scenes in the show so far with all three of them on screen at the same time, in the same shot.)

This would be me. I mean, don't get me wrong; I've read Wincest and liked it, but for the most part it's not for me. Dean/Castiel with Sam along for the ride is just my cup of tea, and I really hope we get some of that sooner rather than later this season.

And yeah, it's a great icon, isn't it? I love it.

I have not seen a lot of Leverage so far. From what I did see, especially in this season, those three have a lot of chemistry together.

Leverage has been great so far; there was only one episode I wasn't so fond of, and that's because the plotline involved Ultimate Fighting and I found it kind of boring. And those three are great together.

Re: SPN, I like all three! Although, okay, I'm not like ultra in love with Castiel, I do like the angel and find him interesting and I'm curious to see what he'll be doing. With the brothers, at times, I do feel a little more biased towards Sam, but I still love 'em both and I definitely like Castiel.

And OH I need to catch up on Leverage.

And hi!

I've always liked Sam just a bit more than Dean, which makes what Sam dislike I encounter that much more ouchy. But I do like all three quite well, and seeing the dislike for one of them is disturbing.

And Leverage has been great this season; there was only one episode I wasn't so fond of, and that was early on (it was the one with the ultimate fighting or whatever that is, and that just didn't interest me in the slightest).
