I thought it was interesting that they literally had to fight for Earth. The rain and mud was a good setting, nice and messy like a few pilots we know.

Gods - they are the heroes of this place and that more than anything bestows them both with a guilty sense of entitlement. They don’t want praise. They just want the Gods to turn their eyes for a handful of moments while they play out the final stage of their story without fear of the epilogue.

I think this part was my favourite section. You really are a good writer!

I'm not sure why it is but I have this real fascination with *actual* earth in relation to Kara. I guess it's my wasy of giving her quest some sort of physical pay-off. Something she can actually hold in her hands for her trial.

Maybe I just like the naked-muddy-pilot idea.

The Old man had told her, moments before the end - his end and, in a way, her own - that enlightenment meant you had to remember where you’d left the dark, so that you’d never fall back into it.

Kara liked to carry her darkness with her, keep it in plain sight.
I love this part. In just a few sentences, it says a lot about both characters, their philosophies and what drives them.

Of course the pilots end-of-the-world smut wasn't bad either. Lee's right, nothing much can stop the hot pilot sex.

I liked this - it was a good mix of smut and angst. Plus all the mud, grime, and blood was, in my opinion, a perfect setting for them. I think the ending is right for them, too. I enjoyed it!

It's sort of how I always imagined they pictured their relationship. You know, that hefty measure of guilt and pain is driving them NOT to make it something pretty and fluffy.
