BSG: Taking a Break from All Your Worries

Jan 31, 2007 13:29

This is late because my boy (who I love, I really, really do) decided that Monday would be the best ever day to pick me up from work and say, “Hope you don’t mind, I had to unplug your computer.” Anyway, I’ve seen it now and I liked sections of it but didn’t really feel it held together as a cohesive episode.

I am totally in awe of your mind here, but it's late and have work to do and I'm too tired for a proper discussion so I'll get back to you tomorrow! :)

Really? Was I profound?! Cool! Well, I´d love to know what it is I said that you found interesting, but no hurries :) I know what it´s like to be late home from work and tired!

But she won me over, first by completing her mission to rescue Kara (and flinging in that little slap), and then by seeking that reunion hug from Lee. My "yougogirl" instinct wanted her to walk away from him, especially when he was not showing too much "I'm sorry I just sent you to almost death to save the woman I want to cheat on you with" in his expression.

Dude, that slap was beautiful. Beautiful I tell you. Just restrained enough but full of...disdain, I think. Anyway, yeah, awesome. One place I will give Lee credit (though I was also totally wanting Dee to just walk away from him at, well, several points) is that I don't think he wanted to send Dee. I think he really, honestly, was only doing it to get Sam on board because he needed him for the larger picture; think it was a sound military decision and Dee was the only possible choice.

Kara: *grumble* I accept that this is her nature, but nothing pleased me more than Adama attacking her. Actually, I have like, a whole post's worth of stuff about how Adama attacking her ( ... )

By the time Adama got to her, I was already quite tired of her so I cheered the bitchslap. I thought that would turn her around. Well, it did, but it basically just made her back into the bluff and bluster that she was before. No growth showing ( ... )

Adama switches favoured children like musical chairs; it's kind of disturbing really. It's almost like the mafia. Yes, he chased after Roslin & Apollo, but both of them responded "appropriately"; Apollo by embracing his father again and Roslin by graciously "apologising" and then instead of going against him, continually tricking him into thinking she was going along with him when really he was going along with her.

Kara hasn't been appropriately contrite towards him, I don't think.

Also, Roslin's crusade mostly starts in 1.12 & 1.13 and continues through 2.07.
