That Who finale was stunning wasn't it.

I was really shocked by how...un-Davieslike it was! It felt like a proper ending to an awesome fairytale.

Having watched the whole season, I am quite convinced a large part of it was Moffat wanting to address all of the shit RTD pulled out of his arse, and fix it. And say look, this is how you're supposed to do story telling.

There are of course inevitably people complaining because it was too complicated.

Makes me think about what Stephen Fry said about it being a kids show. RTD made a flat-out kiddies tv show, with running and shouting and explosions. But Moffat has made it a show that has a lot more for adults to appreciate once again.

Yeah, I get that feeling too, though I'm not sure whether all the RTD stuff that got eaten by the cracks stayed eaten or not? I think they did though, cus Amy's parents would have if she hadn't remembered them and only Amy could do the "remembering to bring it back" thing. Or something.

It's weird - if you read interviews with Moffat he's very, very complimentary about RTD, like beyond what he needs to be to just be polite and professional - I genuinely get the impression he likes and appreciates him. But then, when I look at the show - if I just had to guess as to his feelings from the stories he's telling. Oy. I'd say he feels as strongly as me on the issue
