But not without people taking pictures featuring me. So. Many. Pictures. Most of them you can see at the Cirque du Geek Facebook page. I'm the Loki in the Loki hoodie as supposed to the lady who actually made herself a Lady Loki costume. It didn't stop there though. Oh no. I even made the website for the local paper. Looks like you had a blast! Was this hosted by the library or was the library just a part of it? I see that the location tag on some of the photos is the library.

Someday I will stop being lazy and make a few simple cosplays for things like this.

The library hosted most of it. A local independent movie theater called Railroad Square hosted a screening of Spaceballs for $5 dollars an attendee, and a local arts organization called Common Street Arts provided refreshments in the park at the end of the cosplay parade. Other than that it all happened in or around the library. That meant the con's rules about prop weapons were stiffer than at some cons, and it's part of the reason I didn't bother to bring my Nerf version of Thor's Hammer like I tend to when I'm wearing my Loki hoodie. I blame all the set pictures of Tom getting his hands on the prop hammer whenever he could. *weg*

That's so awesome. We did our first Library Con this year and it was a blast, can't wait for next year! It's a lot of work but so much fun.

I'm just sorry I didn't realize they were doing cons at the library sooner. I missed the first three. Least if they do another one next year I'll be on the look out for it. The news article said, "The local Geek convention was the brainchild of Sarah Taylor, who works in teen services at the library." It seemed like a lot of the staff for the con were volunteers at the library, some of whom were leaving after the con. I hope it doesn't fade away with changes in people. I loved it. <3

Way to go! Sounds like a fun time was had by all. I hope Hello Kitty didn't get too hot!

Thanks! Given Hello Kitty was in the noontime parade, and made the 4pm Masquerade, she either didn't get too hot, or managed to be cooled back down again in time for the Masquerade. ;-)
