At the "moment of lightning and thunder" I saw something even weirder than usual - I saw the structure of the universe on a small scale

True. *considers*
I generally don't have any hallucinations/dreamstates of being attacked, although worms would be situation-appropriate. And if ones lover were a small man in a colorful pointy hat, then garden gnomes getting into the mix might be understandable.

You know, I did email him a few years ago, and he emailed me back. We used to live in the same town, although I didn't know at the time, it turns out. Ha! Given how much sex is in his writing, he'd probably think it was funny.
The hyperbolic picture is kinda right, interestingly enough, only the struts were less metallic looking, more flexible and they were like the uh, "re-bar" for the even finer set of stuff fulla holes. And there were these larger irregular holes which ... eh, whatever, right? Thanks for the image - it does kind of look like the structure of the thing. :p

Not earth-shattering. I think I emailed, saying, oh, I see you were from Lynchburg, whereabouts in Lynchburg? And then we worked out in a few exchanges where exactly he and I had lived in relation to Randolph Macon Woman's College, and that he had been in walking distance of my house, and how great a place it was to bike, because the hills were numerous and tricky in some places. I made "ooooo" fan noises about his book "The Sex Sphere" because I had loved it at the time, and that was about it. He has a love-hate relationship with L-burg and no longer lives there, I believe he said.
Nothing deep or meaningful. I was delighted that he answered, since I am nothing to him personally. I guess he was curious?
