At the "moment of lightning and thunder" I saw something even weirder than usual - I saw the structure of the universe on a small scale.
Guess what? It looks like a natural sponge, with a flexible structural skeleton and many holes, some large and many small in the baser stuff of it. The skeleton allows for the compression and then natural rebounding of the material, and the holes are generally not visible from inside the, uh, world-sponge. From within, you navigate around them. We could just see them because we were at a distance and looking at the edge of it.
Also, there were rotating colorful five-sided (or possibly 10-sided) figures, with each face a different color.
No idea what that was about. Maybe I need to lay off the Rudy Rucker stuff?
