Actual materials and a little cash. This time it was props for a sci-fi movie - a whole trunk of chemistry glassware his Pop left when he died. Very mad scientist stuff.

Since they have been doing this DIY movie stuff in off-hours from their real jobs, they love getting donated prop materials apparently since no one is fronting the money for them. If you want a machete and a sparkler for a special effect, you have to buy that stuff yourself or get it donated.

Oh, tell me about it. Mr and I just finished up 3 years of making his movie, and it took lots of that sort of thing, people donating stuff, us making stuff and mostly us buying stuff to make other stuff. Fortunately, he otherwise makes a living with his camera, and computer, so we didn't have to buy that.
