Hey guys, long time, no update!

The good news:

-I for sure have a place to live in Ottawa! \o/ Huge load of stress off of my back.

-I've been driving up a storm on 1920s street. (Though sometimes I think I've gotten lazy and decide to drive the Model A Ford or use the old bicycle instead of walking one minute down the street, but whatevs!)

...I have one more question re: visa appointment. Did you have travel insurance before you went? I know their website says you need it if you're going for 6 months or less, and I'll be there for 7 months, but is it a good idea to have beforehand anyway?

I bought travel insurance when I bought my plane ticket, but I've never used it... wait, I should probably send in that stuff for when I got whooping cough... thanks for reminding me!

I suppose it's probably a good idea to have it. You don't need to buy a full six months of it, though. You get health insurance as a part of your contract - I think like three or four month's worth? (The last four months), so you'd be double-covered otherwise. I think. I've never been good about insurance. Ask your prof.?

I was more wondering about the visa appointment - I know their website says you need it is you're going for less than six months, but I am paranoid! (I suppose I could print out the consulate's page for the teaching assistants and have that on me if they ask for it? Do you recall if they asked you for proof of travel insurance while you were at yor appointment?)

Be paranoid and bring every last piece of paper they could possibly ask for, and more besides, like printing off the teaching assistant page. Why not?

I don't recall being asked for proof of travel insurance, but I remember I had printed off my travel insurance policy and brought the card with the number on it.
