I have a job interview tomorrow. Admittedly, it's for another position at the workplace I've been at for 2.5 years, and it's laid-back, so I'm not too worried about my appearance (they know what I look like, I figure). I decided to go for China Glaze Ruby Pumps on my fingers, which I LOVE, and I don't think looks too vampy because it's winter and I ( Read more... )

1. For job interviews, it depends on where I'm working at. My interview for Google for my contracting job, I wore whatevers: jeans, shirt, cardigan, chucks, and I even had purple bettie bangs. I dressed up for Express in their pencil skirt, heels, did my hair kind of flipped out (it was blonde and short), and wore one of their button down shirts(which I found very very odd, because I'm paid more at Google). I think the traditional "don't wear loud colors" only applies to super formal companies, so as long as you look polished and not like a cat lady, I'm sure you can get away with looking more casual because they want you to look more fun and approachable ( ... )

2. Get Atlantis from China Glaze! It's amaaaaaazing. And there are others but that's the first one that popped into my head.

A couple I tried recently: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Purple Pizzazz (new) and BB Couture Dragon's Breath (beauutiful) (high recommend BB Couture).

A lot of the LA Girl Rockstar polishes have the look you're going for, if not exactly jellies:

Some China Glaze Glitter swatches:

3. Anything that strikes my fancy! Pastels are really in for all the new collections (I'm salivating over all of the mint greens, haha)

i think the alice in wonderland collection (cannot recall if it's cg or opi) has some glitter colors, or at least that's what they look like to me in pictures. and then also the opi polishes at sephora have a lot of glitter colors, but i'm not sure of the consistency because i've never tried one.

Check out the line of Glitters from China Glaze. Google swatches. Some are just glitter and some are in a jelly base like what you are looking for. And if you don't have lubu heels pick that up- black with red glitter :)

As for favorite nail colors for spring- all the pastels are perfect (Up & Away collection from China Glaze, Sweet by Orly) and I can't wait for the China Glaze Poolside collection for summer.
