by saying it went away quickly, how quickly do you mean? and did it like go away back to your natural teeth color or did it still stay white but just dulled a bit? for how much i'm going to be paying for it i figured i would research it really well haha
it was over two years ago so i can't say exactly how long, my teeth are still a lot lighter than they were before the treatment but they are more dull. i still get the gel to keep up with it, and you can use the gel all the time to lighten your teeth or just once a month or so to keep them bright. honestly i forget about it a lot so i'll do it like the day before something big like an anniversary or some kind of event.
if it's something you want and can afford to do easily, i say go for it. the gel has kept my teeth pretty white, and like i said it's been over two years. personally i'd stick with the trays, but for an immediate white smile (that can last if you keep up with it) it's not bad.
oh and since people are describing pain: basically what happened with me is every few minutes i'd get a sharp shooting pain in one of my teeth, usually on my bottom teeth where i'm very sensitive. that was the only pain i had during the procedure itself. my teeth were a bit sensitive for the rest of the day so i drank room temperature water, but other than that it never bothered me again. i don't remember having any sensitivity by the next morning.
obviously that will be different for everyone, but yeah it didn't hurt me much at all. certainly not enough for it to be worth mentioning. i was most worried about my gums being burned, but i brought that up to the assistant who performed most of the procedure and she said that is possible when the person doesn't protect your gums from the lamp well enough, but she said no one in that office had ever had an issue with it. and yeah my gums were fine.
turned out gorgeous, but the next day I had the worst headache i have ever had in my life. worse than when I had dry sockets after getting my wisdom teeth out. however, i do have receding gums, so if you don't you'll probably be fine. and hey, pain is beauty. :-P
ahh i've heard about the intense pain - toothache, headache from it but i figured the exact same thing as you - if it's only for a day or so later, how bad can it really be if you'll have perfect white teeth afterwards, right?! ;)
can i ask how long ago you had it, and whether it stayed as white as it was after first getting it done? i'm trying to research~ it a little bit before i get it done, considering how much i'm going to be paying lmao
I've had it done twice. The first time was 9 or 10 years ago, and then the last was almost 2 years ago. It just made my teeth extremely sensitive for about a week. I could not drink any really cold or hot foods/beverages or it just shot up pain. It hurt so freaking bad. It did make my teeth white, but not blindingly fake look white, but a very good natural white.
i've heard about the pain from it, my front teeth are kind of sensitive anyway (like i can't bite~ into icecream) so i'm expecting it to increase even more when i get it done! ty for your comment :)
were your teeth pretty white to begin with? this is gonna sound so bad but i'm looking for that "perfect" ~hollywood smile~ and i love the look of really white teeth, so i was actually hoping this would achieve that ahaha. oh & can i ask how long did the white last for? i'm trying to do a little ~research before i drop a whole lot of cash on this, i wouldn't want it to go away completely even a year later lol
