Do you curl your lashes? If they're really straight, it might make colored mascara harder to see.

I don't manually curl them, but they're fair curled alone. (I've been asked about my mascara when I'm make-up free, if that helps at all.)

Try manually curling them. Curling lashes helps virtually everybody's eyes look bigger and more opened up.

And, generally, those sparkly mascaras really tend to have more color than sparkle. It sucks, especially when you have naturally dark lashes, because it means the color/sparkle is minimal at best.

To see a colored/sparkled mascara better, make sure you use a primer. It will coat your lashes with a white base, and then the mascara will show up so much better.

I used to wear coloured mascara and my eyelashes are pretty dark to begin with so I stole borrowed this http://www.maybelline.com/product/eye/mascara/intense-xxl-volume-and-length-waterproof-microfiber-mascara.htm off my friend and only put the white on, then put the coloured mascara on top. Worked perfectly!

I find that resting my elbow on a flat surface gives me more control when I use liquid liner. Maybe try using a peach blush once in a while. If you wanted, you could add a highlighter to your browbone/cheekbones to open bring more attention to your eyes & make your cheekbones pop.
