Have any of you guys ever made your own eyeshadow primer?  If so...
  • How did you do it?  What did you use, what brands of materials, etc?
  • Is it worth trying, or should I just head over to Ulta and shell out some extra money for the Urban Decay stuff?  I'm the kind of girl who used to hate makeup and still needs things as simple as possible to keep ( Read more... )

I love love love two faced shadow insurance, I got a tube from sephora and it has lasted me 4 months already, and theres a TON left. I also picked up another tube in a sale post someone had for $10! Check those out, maybe post an ISO :)

I can't help with a DIY thing, but I have UDPP...i've had the same tube since the beginning of summer and it's still going! I think it's worth the money, it seems expensive initially, but it lasts forever, a little goes a very long way.

Oh, L'Oreal (I believe?) makes a shadow primer for like $7, it's called DeCrease.

considering the tiny amount of primer you use and how long it can last, i think you might as well just buy it. i do suggest buying too faced shadow insurance instead though, because the packaging of udpp gets in the way of getting all of the product out so you're left wasting a lot of it unless you want to cut the tube open, which i don't care for.

i have both, they keep my eyeshadow in place just as long. too faced shadow insurance is a little thinner than the primer potion and easier to spread around the lid (imo) but it works just as well. i have very oily eyelids, nothing stays for more than an hour on me without a primer.

I have oily skin too, especially on my eyelids, and UDPP is one of my favorite products. It might seem expensive but the last tube I had lasted me probably around 14 months with everyday use.
