I'm desperate! I'm fresh out of spot treatment and moisturizer. Every cosmetics store I've gone to has given me a different recommendation. I have combination skin, sometimes experience cystic acne flare ups, and tend to overdry from aggressive acne-treatments, but also need to control my (somewhat excessive, but not very visibly shiny) oil. I also ( Read more... )

i had horrible skin for years but it finally cleared this year (at 25 years old - about time!). I think for me it was probably something to do with bc pill and this neals yard rehydrating rose moisturiser i got with marie claire that i use a few times a week!

ive also been using far less foundation (as a result of skin beginning to clear and also because i couldnt be bothered). I think that has helped too though.

i used effaclar k before neals yard though, and i loved it! you say you found it light, how so?

Cleanance K isn't actually a moisturizer, it's more of a treatment. It worked incredibly well to clear up my skin but if you choose to use it I wouldn't use any other sort of other treatment at the same time. The problem for me with Cleanance K is that it's a gel-like texture that makes a barrier on your skin that makes it hard to put a moisturizer on afterwards. I don't know whether it will be necessary to use a separate moisturizer if you're oily and it's summertime, but it's something to think about (I stopped using it as it got drier toward winter). But Cleanance K actually has more than just salicylic acid -- it has glycolic and lactic acid as well (which is why it works so well, and also why it stings a little when you put it on sometimes) so you'd need to wear a sunscreen during the day. Hope that helps!
