I'm desperate! I'm fresh out of spot treatment and moisturizer. Every cosmetics store I've gone to has given me a different recommendation. I have combination skin, sometimes experience cystic acne flare ups, and tend to overdry from aggressive acne-treatments, but also need to control my (somewhat excessive, but not very visibly shiny) oil. I also have mild acne scarring, and dilated pores on my cheeks.
I just finished using La Roche-Posays Effaclar K as my lotion alongside their effaclar face wash, but I found that it was too light. Prior to the Effaclar K moisturizer, I was using La Roche-Posays Effaclar H to compensate and soothe my skin while using harsh acne treatments. I was using an aggressive spot treatment (Murad) that is no longer doing anything for me from using it. I've used almost everything: I've tried regulating my skin with birth control, I've cut my caffeine intake down, I've tried Neutrogena, Clean and clear, Vichy, Pur Minerals, La Roche Posay, Murad, and Proactiv.
I just recently purchased Avene's Cleanance soapless cleanser and I was told I should stay within Avene's line. I've also never used a toner and someone that I spoke to said that I would benefit from using a toner.
So, I would like to use a cleanser, toner, moisturizer and spot treatment. I would like to be able to use my cleanser and moisturizer twice a day. I dont want to have to alternate between day and night creams.
I was recommended Avene's mattifying toner. I was also recommended Triacneal as the spot treatment. A few cosmeticians recommended I use the Triacneal as an overall treatment at night without a lotion, but I dont think I have problematic enough skin to justify applying it all over. I also want to make sure I am giving my skin moisture at night.
So my main problem is what moisturizer to use. One cosmetician recommended Avene's cleanance anti-shine lotion (
http://www.aveneusa.com/cleanance-anti-shine-regulating/ ).
When I asked another cosmetician, they said that the toner is mattifying so I'd be using both a lotion and toner that mattify which is redundant/over drying. So they recommended Avenes Cleanance k moisturizer (
http://www.aveneusa.com/cleanance-k-cream-gel/ ). However, I'm concerned that this moisturizer may be a little harsh due to the salacylic acid. Also, Avene's website recommends only using Cleanance K once a day.
What should I do? I'm open to using a sensitive, non-acne fighting lotion just to get my hydrance in while letting the toner, spot treatment, and cleanser control my acne.
Thank you!!!
