sun exposure

this question is actually for my boyfriend. a couple weeks ago we all went to the beach on a very hot day. lots of sun exposure. he isn't usually the type to burn so he decided not to wear sunscreen. he didnt really burn persay.....but now his skin is peeling and underneath its all blotchy and uneven and it's not getting any better. him and i both ( Read more... )

did he blister? I have patches like that from when I blistered (which was absolutely horrible.. I was in SO MUCH pain). If he didn't burn, I'd be kind of concerned actually.... those dont look like sun spots to me (and I'm a little worried about the green/blue-ish patch). Could he possibly have a fungal infection? One of my best friends is trying to beat a really bad fungal infection and it flares up horribly when he's in the sun...

it does look like fungus but i can't tell.
if you can take him to a doctor that would be better.

picture isn't coming through. google tinea versicolor and see if that matches.

Although from the above comment about a blue-green patch makes me think a doctor might be a better choice than the internet.

it doesnt really look blue-green in person, i think it might be the lighting. but yes he probably should go see a doctor. just thought it might be something very simple so figured i'd try here first since you ladies are always so helpful :)

The lighter areas remind me of tinea versicolor, which is treated with antifungal medications. Def. make an appt to see a dermatologist.
