First time at-home bleaching

Attempted to bleach my hair at home, and didn't go as planned. I should've known better, but I didn't have enough product to evenly distribute through my hair (used Ion's Powder Lightener with their 30% developer), as it's quite thick. The wait time is really about your scalp more than your hair, as there is little to be done about reversing hair damage. Use a hot oil treatment on the hair to do what you can to make it happy, wait 2 days so your scalp doesn't burn, and you can try it again.
Although, there is nothing wrong with paying someone to do it for you, especially if you have a target other than "as light as possible" in mind. It's going to be hard to lift just one shade, as your hair will have unequal process times, and your already lighter bits will be lighter still.
