I tried this and it makes a cool lens-flare kind of effect, in lots of colors, and it moves.

On any Facebook screen press: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, "b", "a", ENTER. -- Then start typing in any text box or scroll up and down the page! (Refresh the page to cancel the effect)

my friend jesse replied to my facebook status about it:

"This may very well peg me as the oldest person to respond but up, up, down, down, left, left, right, right, a, and b is a cheat code stolen right off of the original Nintendo system. Take a look at the controller and you'll see what I mean. Only on Nintendo, you were supposed to hold down the a and the b and THEN press the start button simultaneously at the start menu. Depending on the game, you could get unlimited firepower, unlimited life, and all kinds of other cool effects.

*shuffles off while mumbling to play his old school vinyl records*"

Ha, as soon as I saw that code I remembered using it as a kid, but couldn't remember for what game. So I googled the words and found the following -

And then I finally remembered where I used it - TMNT: The Fall of the Foot Clan.

Really, the only thing I can add to this is that which sarianna said below about The Moldy Peaches song, "Anyone Else But You," which contains the lyric, "Up up down down left right left right B A start, just because we use cheats doesn't mean we're not smart." Sari posted a link to a YouTube video, too:

You know, whenever I see that cheat code I think of the part in "Anyone Else But You" by the Moldy Peaches where they sing it. Mostly because I have it as a ringtone. "Up up down down left right left right B A start, just because we use cheats doesn't mean we're not smart" :D
