So I went for a 2nd opinion on my thigh numbness, burning, stinging, stabbing pain that I have had for close to 3 years. I've had 3 epidural injections in my L4 nerve root as well. Very interesting. I had the same issue and my doctor sent me to a neurologist who told me my belt was too tight and I should wear suspenders. How's that for a diagnosis?

I've lost 135# since my lap hband surgery and the meralgia paresthetica is better but it's still there.

I have a August 3rd "orientation" at OHSU. I assume it's seminar thingy, but could be more. Thanks for the support, I'm not very excited about the possibility of this, but maybe the outcome???

Just found this discussion and I realize it's been a year since the last comment, but I'm wondering how things have progressed. Dealing with negative ramifications of being too heavy, myself. Just added you as a friend here at LJ.
