Sounds like fun. We have to work tomorrow, but lots of people took this all or part of this week off because kids are out of school.

It's crazy warm here too. 76F right now which I think is about 23C

When do you guys close on the new house? We'll need to see pics when you move in!

Up here, everything except some restaurants will be closed (it's actually the law here, not just an optional thing).

We close May 14th. I have to be out of my apartment by May 31 and Dave's place is closing around May 28th.

Wow! Exciting on the closing. Weird on Good Friday being a national holiday. I had no idea. Nothing is closed here except for some schools.

Godless, secular Canada has an established state Church, the Anglican Church, for which Good Friday is a major holiday.

Jesusland forbids the establishment of religion, despite the religiosity of many of its citizens. Sometimes the folks south of the 49th parallel actually get things right.

Well actually we have two established churches, since we also pay for Catholic schooling. But many Americans I've talked to had no idea we had religion up here at all, thinking us to be more like Europe.

I think the difference up here is that religion is (properly) regarded as a strictly personal matter that's considered taboo to discuss in public, particularly for those in office.
