No, we basically went north of Charlotte, cut into Virginia, and then went across the smoky mountain range and back down through Hickory. We didn't have much time to see much more of the countryside.

That's a lot of drivin'! When I lived there, I used to say that half of any road trip was getting out of NC!

You didn't miss anything by not seeing Monroe. Or Misenheimer, for that matter.
