When we were in Niagra Falls a few weeks ago we noticed that all the birds in the aviary were busy building nests. They must notice the longer days and it gets them into breeding mode.

From English Prep schools originally, but it spread. Wear green on Thursdays and everyone would call you gay. Unless your school colours included green, then it was wearing yellow on Wednesdays.

May be related to the green carnation symbol from the Oscar Wilde era.

I try to wear a green shirt every Thursday: my own little protest signal.
