I also like to put powdered sugar on my pancakes, usually only when I am out of other possible toppings now, but when I was growing up, that was just what I put on, regardless of what else was available.
Waffles are only for special occasions in my family, like Christmas, New Years, Easter, etc. French bread is good sometimes, but I prefer it when made with some sort of special bread, like cinnamon chip or something. The toppings would be about the same for the french bread, but always strawberries and whipped cream with the waffles.
Waffles are for every occasion. I had cornmeal waffles with curry for dinner last night, with Jam for breakfast this morning and with a different curry for lunch today.
Crepes have become a lovely part of my diet thanks to the creperie within walking distance of my house. (And possibly helped along by the influence of my ex-roommate, who was French and taught us to make them at home.) From said ex-roommate, I learned that for crepes lemon juice and sugar is irresistible, though we also had nutella and other fruits available. For a more substantial meal, I enjoy a crepe with pepper jack cheese, tomato and avocado (or pepper jack cheese, egg, turkey, and avocado). I have never actually had bacon with my crepes, but the only answer to "Bacon?" is "Of course, Bacon."
(I am also boring like Natacato, though the French seem to drink chocolate with everything, which is almost as hard to argue with as Bacon.)
