Just skipping around--and what a grand spaceship right around the 6:40 mark!

OK, bonus points for sense of wonder, and double bonus points for Konstantin Tsiolkovsky as technical advisor!

I don't know why. Try http://youtu.be/-X4jg9sVzDo

As a dedicated enthusiast of hard SF, I think this is a movie you will like.

Thanky!

(Still only seeing a blank above where I assume the video should be, but that link works.)

This movie has stunning model and stop-motion effects. Clearly as hard SF as they could make it, too.

Beats the pants off 1929's famous Die Frau im Mond in both special effects and hard-SFness. This film deserves to be better known.

I've always had a soft spot for the _Cosmostrator_ from the movie _First Spaceship on Venus_, myself.

At the silent film festival here, they had booked a print of Die Frau im Mond from Germany for us, then when it arrived apologized that it was the full-length version, before Lang cut out half an hour. "How Silly," we thought. Twelve and a half subjective weeks later...

Interestingly, Google Translate renders the title as simply "Space Flight".
