So, I need to get a move and start packing as I now have two tentative move out dates, but as the place has yet to be repainted (who knew there are so many shades of white to choose from?) and other than a bed, desk and my computers, I'm not really sure what else I want to or need to bring with me. The joys and perils of moving not that far away

Am I just too attached to Donna and the Tennant & Tate era or is anyone else having similar "Donna already did that!" and "Ten & Donna already did that!" reactions to series 5? Seriously, Ten and Donna own the "we're not engaged married" gag.

No, I'm having the same reactions too. When Riven fell on 11...totally TRB Donna falling on Ten move. Everything is obviously recycled, it's driving me nuts! I'm not even actively seeking out similarities, they just are there! Guess it just proves who are the best Team Tardis :)

I know! I went into it thinking, "I'm not going to compare Eleven/Amy to Ten/Donna. It's a whole new team and I'm going to give them a chance." But it's hard not to compare when they seem to be recycling stories and gags!

I'm relieved you said that about "They already did that!" because I do that all the time and I really don't want to! I even wince when 11 says "You're brilliant" to Amy, which is pretty stupid because every Doctor does that with his companion.
Anyway, I guess I'm just a traumatized Ten and Donna fangirl! ;)

I love Eleven and Amy's growing on me, but unless they're going to reveal to me that Eleven and Amy are some AU version of Ten and Donna, they need to have adventures that don't remind me of series 4 (and other Ten stories). From the trailer and title alone, I'm already seeing comparisons to Turn Left with next week's episode!

I don't know, I like to think any similar details are more like homages, or Moffat's way of tying the two eras together. Maybe that's me giving him too much credit. :P

Sophia needs to make better movies, because she's SO lovely but there's only so much badness I can take, even for her.

I think I wouldn't be bothered by the similarities if Donna had a better send off, but as it is, all these nods (unintentional or not) just remind me of how Donna got the short end of the companion (and BBC merchandising) stick. Thankfully my love for Eleven is keeping me amused.

Unless I dislike their co-star more than I like a particular actor I will subject myself to astounding levels of badness to get a fix. (Thank you to whoever put the 'fast forward' button on the remote!) Sadly, Sophia seems to pick bad movies with actors I don't mind. If she's going to continue this trend she needs to start co-starring with actors I love so that there's something to counterbalance the badness!

Thanks, I'm going to need it! Your icon is also reminding me that I need to stock up on episodes of 'Legend of the Seeker' for when I'm inevitably without TV reception!
