Thanks! I always loved taking pictures, my dream camera is a Canon, but that is way to expensive (about 600 Euro). So I stay with my tiny digital one....after all I can carry it in my pocket.

This is the first shot of myself for ages that I really like btw.

I'm a photography fan too! I have a Nikon D80 that I LOVE! That picture of you is fabulous, dear!

Hey, did you ever get that MLL banner from tini? She was asking me about adding stuff to it (words) a while ago but I haven't heard from her since. Just curious... ;)

I had a Nikon years ago...but it was stolen. I still have an old camera here, a very good Minolta; but I am used to my tiny camera now.

Haven't heard from tini, I showed her the banner fiona made and asked her if she can add some pics or text. She said she has time now as she has free time from university....since then I did not hear anything. But that was at the beginning of my holidays, last Saturday or Sunday.

OMG Astrid, you have my family's eyes! My mom's side came from Germany-- we all have that dark ring around the blue/green color.

Gorgeous pics. I can just smell the leaves. Kudos for capturing the horses.

Really? Do you know where she came from in Germany?
I don't know much about my family as I am adopted, only thing I know is which part of Germany my mother came from....

Glad you liked the pictures, I have some more up in a some minutes.

I'll ask her! She has it all in many notebooks; did the whole genealogy research thing.

We have some mysteries in my family; a grandmother who had an out-of-wedlock child-- we thought the father was *gasp* Irish. The shame. (We also thought he was killed in the war; so very sad.) And we have an unnamed "squaw" in our family tree on my father's side; we believe she must have been Algonquin, but no one bothered to put her name in the records.

Wow, you seem to be a mixed bag then....A squaw from Algonquin tribe, wow, that sound interesting. Sad no one bothered to put her name in records or even write down why there she happened to be in the family tree...

Thanks for asking your mom where her family came from.

This is one of my most personal post here so far...never posted pics like this and with me before. I do not like myself in pictures, but who does? This was the first time I thought I could risk to post it....

Hon', you look just fine! :) Lovely to see what you look like. You wind up getting to know people and only wondering what they appear like. This makes the "connection" more intimate and "real".

..and yeah..absolutely HATE myself in pictures, too. It's all them movie stars that are photogenic..not us "regular" folk. xD

...at least for a 42 year old overweight person without makeup yes....

But I am glad I can make it intimate and real. When I think of a person I know here I always have the profile picture in my head...and never know how she (or seldom he) looks like....for you it is the John-picture you used for this comment. Needless to say that if someone else uses it I am slightly confused LOL
