Tutorial : Crystal Bracelet #1
Level : Intermediate
Warning : Heavy pictures under cut
I took the design and pattern from this book.
In this tutorial, we're going to do this rainbow bracelet. It is similar to Donut Crystal Bracelet #1 but this time the base is smaller. The two rows of flower crystal will bend and form a triangle. Not exactly a triangle but somewhat similar to it. You can't see it from the picture because of the camera angle limitation plus my poor skill in photo taking.
This one is not hard. But you will work with six lines of nylon threads. :P
What you need :
- 4 mm. Bicones Swarovski Crystal.
- Seed beads : White pearl
- Clasp, Crimp Bead, Bead Tip.
- Nylon coated thread no. 30.
I use rainbow colors. Light Rose, Padparadscha, Jonquil, Light Emerald, Aquamarine, Sapphire and Tanzanite.
1.
Cut the nylon thread around 80 - 100 cm. You need three threads. Then, you string those three threads into a crimp bead, fold them and you will get six lines. Now, put the six lines into bead tip.
2.
Try to equal the lengths of each line before you pull the lines tight. Crimp the crimp bead by plier.
3.
Now crush the bead tip. Before you crush it, you can add glue inside the bead tip.
4.
Now let us start beading. Pick up any two lines, add two seed beads each line and join them by a seed bead (red arrow). Continue with the rest of the lines.
5.
You will get something like in the picture. Do you notice the three color circles? The lines that adjacent each other will form a pair. You will get three pairs. Do not mind the numbers. I put the numbers just to make it clearer.
6.
Now, pick up any pair, add one seed bead to each line and join both lines with a seed bead (red arrow). Do the same with the others two pairs.
7.
You will get something like this. This picture is clearer. You can notice the pair of lines clearer. Since you have to work with pairs throughout the project, please be sure to pick the right lines.
8.
Now, pick up one pair you want it to become a base. Add two seed bead each line and join both lines by a seed bead (red arrow).
9.
The others two pairs, you add a crystal to each line and join the lines by a seed bead.
10.
Now, you have to pick up the top pair, add a crystal to each line and join both lines by a seed bead.
11.
With the other two pairs below, each pair, you add a crystal to a line that close to crystal and two seed beads to the other line. Join both lines by a seed bead (red and blue arrow).
12.
Pull all lines tightly, you will get two small flowers.
13.
Now you repeat step 8 - 12. Be careful about the pair of threads and the colors. Pull your work tightly too.
14.
You continue until you reach the length you want. Add one seed bead to each line and join the lines by a seed bead. Do it the the others two pairs too.
15.
Add two seed bead to all lines here. You don't need to join any line now.
16.
Here comes the end! Collect all lines and put them through the bead tip and crimp bead (as in the picture). Pull the lines tightly and crush the crimp bead by using plier. Remove the remaining nylon threads, add glue inside the bead tip and close it by using plier. Finally, add the clasp or the lock to your bracelet.
Done!
I already post the pattern in
this entry.
