let's touch the sky: with a to and a fro (and a here there where) and away we go

okay I have been a whiny twerp most of today. this is partially because I am cramping before my period (lol body thanks for stooping to new lows of putting me in pain) and I am still feeling restless and I am tired of cleaning house even though I have done very little of it this summer. any house cleaning feels like too much right now. I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THE NEW X-MEN. I have heard bad things, tbh, but Charles Xavier/Erik Lensherr is one of the SHIPS OF MY HEART.

It is super bad about how it treats its women and the two characters of color. Which sucks, A LOT.

But if you are going for the Erik/Charles dear god does it deliver. The sheer level of obvious slashiness is incredible. (ALSO JAMES MCAVOY'S FACE)

"Refill?" Ianto asked, holding the coffee pot.

"Please, and thank you," Edmund replied, sliding his cup across the table. Ianto made the best coffee he had ever had, from here to every planet this side of the Milky Way, and in this dimension, and the one beyond the Wardrobe. "If I am up all night, I shall blame you."

"And this is a problem, why exactly?"

"None of that until we track down why the Rift is depositing Terra Birds in Cardiff shopping centres!" Jack bellowed from his office. "And I'll take the rest of that pot, Ianto!"

Ianto deliberately sloshed the last of the pot into Edmund's waiting cup.

"I don't think Jack likes me much," Edmund said taking a sip of the bitter, hot, perfect brew.

"You might try not hitting him so often," Ianto suggested, helpfully and not at all sincerely.

"But where would be the fun in that?" Edmund said.

"There's no more coffee, Jack," he called up, and Jack yelled something that didn't sound terribly polite.

"Terra Birds it is," Edmund muttered, rolling his eyes, and took his coffee with him as he slid in front of the computer.

Three hours later they close up the rift and Edmund telephoned back to ask if he should bring home Chinese or pizza.

"By home, do you mean here or the apartment?" Ianto asked.

"Wherever you'll be," Edmund said.

"That was incredibly sentimental, Edmund," Ianto said.

"But also the truth," Edmund said. "I make my homes with people these days."

Icarus is tired of his father's disapproving gaze. It seems that nothing is ever enough to please him. It's stifling and he has to get out somehow, so occasionally he gets away. They're still trapped in this maze so he doesn't get very far.

Eventually they manage to escape and work together to make two sets of wings. Even that doesn't do much to make his father proud of him, so Icarus decides he'll fly higher than anyone has before. Surely that will work, he thinks.

Sooo much tragedy! I was maybe sorta thinking about Winchesters when I wrote that. And then Cas comes out of nowhere and saves Icarus and he's flying for real.

YES, I remember girl!Ed.

Edlyn makes a life in the shadows because her sisters are too bright for her to let them be darkened. She lies and seduces and plays with knives and always always gets what she wants, be it peace, or trade agreements, or a little anonymity. (OR PETER!)

Awwwwww. (and then Castiel... wait are you caught up to where SPN is now?)

She's hard to forget, isn't she? So beautiful and hard and cold and imperious.

Like a spider in the center of her web, up in her tower office as she pulls the threads that bring to Narnia gold and trade and news of their enemies. Everyone knows Narnia runs the greatest spy network in the world. But nobody knows who runs it, or who is in that network, or how they receive or send messages. Edlyn holds her secrets well.

Susan shuts her umbrella, shakes the droplets from it, and squares her shoulders. In front of her is a bright blue police box, per Mary's instructions. Hmph, she thinks. First it was flying umbrellas, and now it is time-travelling police boxes. It's as bad as magical wardrobes.

She knocks.

Susan disapproves of the suit and trainers. Really, if she will be gallumping across the galaxies, time and space, should not the Doctor at least attempt adherence to local customs?

Lucy: terribly glamorous older woman. Also: NURSE. And he'll be in physio for bloody ages post-paralysis... :cough: YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.

I REALLY REALLY DO WANT TO. I HAVE THIS WHOLE STORY. PLOTTED OUT. if by plotted out, of course, you mean that I know Various Things I want to happen, and that I haven't decided yet whether or not Peter and Edmund still died in the train crash or not. I know Susan's around, I think she may be mutant too? Haven't decided what yet.

BUT YES. THEY MEET IN PHYSIO, and Lucy is so patient and kind and loving, and I think she may also be able to affect other people's health slightly. She's not anywhere near powerful enough to heal his spine (her own, on the other hand - ), but she can make the physio a little less painful.

AND THERE ARE OTHER THINGS THAT HAPPEN. *blissfully ridiculous*

the cordial's how her powers manifest?

LAST BATTLE DID NOT HAPPEN. Therefore no train crash.

Also - not so much patient and kind as jolly, no-nonsense and not allowing him to wallow. Which is a bit better than patient and kind. (no-nonsense competency with an edge of deadly is Charles' type. See Erik.

hee, yes, however did you guess? I'm not sure what Susan's mutant skill would be - possibly unerring aim and creating telepathic bonds with a few people at a time? it's kind of hard to translate the horn into a mutant ability.

heh. That would be nice. no train crash, then! I wonder if Edmund and Peter are mutants too? I'm so not a Marvel person, but being mutant does seem to run in a family, doesn't it? hmmm.

oooh, yes. That's a better description of her. Lucy doesn't let people get away with anything. But she is patient and kind about being no-nonsense, and she's always good with a joke, and knowing the difference between when you're moaning about not being able to do something and when you genuinely just need to take a break and start again tomorrow.
Oh man. The Pevensies are going to give Charles some trouble. (Trouble of the "BUT THEY ARE ALL MY TYPE" sort.)
