Oh, MAN. Academia at its most frustrating, this. I'm so sorry you're getting such a run-around from them.

This sounds like something I'd read on the Columbia College LJ communities. Right around the time you'd hear back about your application, there are always, "So they sent me a letter saying they didn't get my letter of recommendation, but they still sent me an acceptance letter a week later. WTF?!"

I read a quote recently that seems appropriate: "Right hand, I'd like you to meet Left Hand. It seems the two of you didn't know what each other were doing. I'd also like to introduce Ass, whom apparently the two of you working together were unable to find with a map and a flashlight."

Call me naive, but I find it astonishing that someone there wouldn't hear your concerns about your application and look into the problem to determine if you have a valid complaint. I mean, really?

(I'm not trying to put anything on you and your attempts to get through to them...I'm just flabbergasted and frustrated for you.)
