Computer's busted, turned out the hard drive was faulty (that's why it got hot pretty quick). Nothing can be saved, but iTunes is grateful enough to resend me my music. Unfortunately computer must be sent from home in a box that should arrive there from hp sometime soon. I should remember to actually back up my shit every few months
